Metal Detection System (MDS)
The Metal Detection System (MDS) on the 6900 horizontal grinder activates within milliseconds when the grinder’s rotor comes into contact with tramp metal. An adjustable electronic sensor monitors the rotor and alerts the control system upon detection of metal. As a response, the system automatically raises the top feed roller and reverses the infeed, allowing the operator to locate and remove the tramp metal.
