Parts Technician

Frontline Machinery is a family owned equipment dealership specializing in the sale and rental of equipment for aggregate crushing and screening, wood grinding, waste shredding, and volumetric measuring technology. We cover from BC to Ontario, including the Yukon and NWT. We are looking for a PARTS TECHNICIAN to join our team.

Based in our Chilliwack, BC head office and reporting to the PARTS MANAGER, the role of the PARTS TECHNICIAN is to assist the Parts Manager with the selling, receiving, and delivery of parts and accessories.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and Service Department team to identify and recommend parts.
  • Enter orders in computer system
  • Cross over or source parts when exact match not available
  • Visit customers and make recommendations of parts they should purchase to keep their equipment up and running
  • Unloading, receiving, and storing incoming parts and other materials in the warehouse and the yard
  • Locate parts and other materials and ship to customers
  • Accurately and completely document and report all shipping, receiving, inventory and stock information in computer systems

Character, Skills, and Experience

  • Resourceful
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial parts such as bearings, sprockets, belts, hydraulic and electric motors, couplings, etc.
  • Good data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Skilled in various parts programs
  • Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs.
  • Must work well under pressure and have a positive attitude
  • Work well with co-workers and customers alike

Service Writer

We cover from BC to Ontario, including the Yukon and NWT. We are looking for a SERVICE WRITER to join our team.

Based in our Chilliwack, BC head office and reporting to the VP OF OPERATIONS, the role of the SERVICE WRITER is to assist the VP of Operations with the day to day activities and provide support to the Service Department team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Service Manager to schedule Mechanics
  • Create Work Orders, and write service descriptions and instructions for Mechanics
  • Provide detailed instructions on work required, parts required, and directions to site for the next day to each Mechanic
  • Schedule all machine services and collect hours where required
  • Order all parts through the Parts Department to have ready for Mechanics
  • Handle incoming service inquiries
  • Follow-up with mechanics to make sure job was completed – if not schedule more time and order parts if needed
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure work was complete to their satisfaction
  • Close and bill work orders
  • Ensure appropriate checklists and paperwork is completed on all equipment entering or leaving the yard
  • Ensure completion of PDI’s, warranty registration documents, and machine profiles
  • Provide assistance with additional tasks as required

Character, Skills, and Experience

  • Highly organized
  • Experience in a dealership setting
  • Experience with CDK Intellidealer software an asset
  • Good data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Must work well under pressure and have a positive attitude

Mechanic

We cover from BC to Ontario, including the Yukon and NWT. We are looking for a MECHANICto join our team.

Based in our Chilliwack, BC head office and reporting to the VP OF OPERATIONS, the role of the MECHANIC is repair and maintenance of a variety of heavy equipment types and brands including crushers, shredders, screeners, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform service, repair, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance procedures on heavy duty equipment
  • Accurately and completely document on Work Orders all machine information, actions taken and time
  • Ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards
  • Work on both customer and Frontline owned equipment
  • Work inside and outside, in all weather
  • Work is primarily during the week, but some weekend work is required as well
  • Travel out of town is required

Character, Skills, and Experience

  • Licensed Heavy-Duty Technician, or enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyman in the Heavy-Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Experience working on heavy equipment as a mechanic; previous experience with aggregate equipment is a definite plus
  • Experience with hydraulics, welding, and electrical diagnosis and repair for electric over hydraulic systems
  • Ability to perform repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy-duty mechanic trade
  • Willing and able to travel
  • Valid driver’s license with reasonable abstract is required
  • Ability to use electronic devices (i.e. tablet or iPad) for mandatory completion of paperwork
  • Willing to learn new skills and machine types / brands
  • Must work well under pressure and have a positive attitude

Parts Purchaser and Technician

We cover from BC to Ontario, including the Yukon and NWT. We are looking for a PARTS PURCHASER & TECHNICIAN to join our team.

Based in our new Woodstock, ON location and reporting to the PARTS MANAGER, the role of the PARTS PURCHASER & TECHNICIAN is to assist the Parts Manager with maintaining stock for all branches, as well as fulfilling customer parts orders.

The new Woodstock, ON location will be opening January 2019 and will be replacing our current satellite office in Tillsonburg, ON. Frontline currently has one sales specialist that will be based from this location, so you will be working alone when he is traveling. However, you will be working directly with staff from our Chilliwack, BC headquarters and will be connected via video. Initial training will take place in Chilliwack, BC prior to the new location opening.
