The GOMACO GP360 puts a high-production placer/spreader and a two-track GP3 slipform paver on a single chassis. The 60 in. (1524 mm) conveyor places concrete up to 36 ft. (10.97 m) wide, and the integrated GP3 slipforms up to 30 ft. (9.14 m) wide, so one machine meters the concrete onto the grade and paves it in a single pass. G+ controls interface with stringline or 3D machine guidance.

The prime mover converts from placer/spreader duty into a two-track GP3 slipform paver, so the same machine does two different jobs on the same site. Highlights include a 302 hp (225 kW) Cat C7.1 Tier 4 Final engine, a 491.5 fpm (149.81 mpm) belt, and 79,000 lbs. (35,834 kg) operational weight.

The strike-off is what ties the placer and paver together. Its height is set by smart cylinders independent of the prime mover, so it meters the depth of concrete without raising or lowering the whole machine. Add the optional sonic sensor system and the strike-off talks to the paver over Machine-to-Machine communication, feeding G+ a constant read on placed depth so it holds an even head of concrete in front of the mold. A dual-drive, reversible 20 in. (508 mm) auger with hard-faced flighting moves material to the centre or the edges across the strike-off.

Two machines, one pass

The GP360 places and paves in a single operation. A high-production placer/spreader meters concrete across the grade up to 36 ft. (10.97 m) wide, and the two-track GP3 built onto the same chassis slipforms it up to 30 ft. (9.14 m). One machine and one crew do the work of a separate placer and paver running in sequence.

Converts from placer to paver

The GP360’s prime mover converts from placer/spreader duty into a two-track GP3 slipform paver with the current G+ technology. A contractor buying one machine gets two roles from it: run it as a placer ahead of another paver, or convert it and slipform with it directly. The versatility is the reason to choose this model.

A belt built for haul-road abuse

The 60 in. (1524 mm) conveyor is made to take end-dump loads. Two 9 ft. (2.74 m) flexible rubber seals on the front and back keep concrete on the belt, and automatic pressure-compensated tensioning adjusts it to the haul road’s height even while folding. A conveyor wheel holds belt position as it raises and lowers.

Smart strike-off with M2M control

The strike-off meters concrete depth on its own smart cylinders, independent of the prime mover, so placement depth changes without moving the whole machine. Add sonic sensors and it feeds placed-depth data to the paver’s G+ system over Machine-to-Machine communication, holding an even, consistent head of concrete in front of the mold pass after pass.

Concrete paving since 1965

GOMACO has built concrete paving equipment out of Ida Grove, Iowa since 1965 and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. The paving line covers widths up to 50 feet (15.2 m) and depths to 19 inches (483 mm), and the same machines run on interstate mainline, airport runways, city streets, and canal work around the world.

G+ Operating System

G+ is proprietary, developed by GOMACO’s own control engineers rather than adapted from an off-the-shelf platform. It uses two-way communication between the paver and its accessories, closed-loop electronic and hydraulic control, and instant digital feedback. Contractors moving up from a GP-4000 can carry their existing attachments and sensors straight onto a new GP4.

Family owned from the start

GOMACO is still owned and run by the family that started it. Harold and Gary Godbersen founded Godbersen Manufacturing Company in 1965, and a third generation of the family is in the business today. Roughly 350 people build every machine in Ida Grove, Iowa, across more than 500,000 sq. ft. (46,450 m²) of plant, office and engineering space.
