GOMACO Commander II
A versatile two-track curb machine with G+ controls, for slipforming curb and gutter, barrier, sidewalk, canal, and shoulders.
The GOMACO Commander II, also designated the GT-6200, is a two-track multi-application curb machine, brought back and re-equipped with GOMACO’s G+ control system. It pairs the simplicity of a two-track paver with independent track drive and steering, and it converts from job to job to slipform curb and gutter, safety barrier, bridge parapet, irrigation canal, sidewalk, bicycle path, and shoulders. G+ runs it from stringline, 2D, or 3D guidance.
Simultaneous trim and pour is built in. A 60 in. (1524 mm) sectional direct-drive trimmerhead prepares exact grade while the mold slipforms right behind it, and it sideshifts up to 48 in. (1219 mm) to clear obstacles. GOMACO’s patented trim-and-pour concept delivers accurate grade and nearly full concrete yield.
The two-track design is unusual and purposeful. The right track is 6 ft. (1.83 m) long and the left is a hinged 8.4 ft. (2.6 m) track that flexes over obstacles in its path with fewer machine adjustments. The right telescoping leg shifts up to 30 in. (762 mm) laterally, so a mold can be side-mounted for minimum-clearance curb or centre-mounted between the tracks for wider work such as a 7 ft. (2.13 m) shoulder. A 6 ft. (1.83 m) conveyor with a 350 fpm (106.7 mpm) belt feeds the hopper, and paving speed reaches 54 fpm (16.46 mpm).

The Commander II converts from project to project on a simple two-track platform. GOMACO brought the Commander II back and re-equipped it with the G+ control system, which gives it independent track drive and steering, smooth travel speeds, and a 6.5 in. (165 mm) anti-glare display that reads in imperial or metric. GOMACO Remote Diagnostics transmits settings, engine data, and fault history for a full remote diagnosis.

The two tracks are different by design. The right runs 6 ft. (1.83 m) and the left is a hinged 8.4 ft. (2.6 m) track that flexes over an obstacle in its path, so the machine makes fewer adjustments to hold its line. The right leg telescopes up to 30 in. (762 mm) for side clearance.

Concrete paving since 1965
GOMACO has built concrete paving equipment out of Ida Grove, Iowa since 1965 and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. G+ Operating System
G+ is proprietary, developed by GOMACO’s own control engineers rather than adapted from an off-the-shelf platform. Family owned from the start
GOMACO is still owned and run by the family that started it. Harold and Gary Godbersen founded Godbersen Manufacturing Company in 1965, and a third generation of the family is in the business today. Roughly 350 people build every machine in Ida Grove, Iowa, across more than 500,000 sq. ft. (46,450 m²) of plant, office and engineering space.
