GOMACO 4400 Barrier Paver
A dedicated four-track barrier paver with true right-side and left-side slipforming for barrier wall, parapet, curb, and sidewalk.
The GOMACO 4400 is a dedicated barrier paver, built to slipform barrier wall, bridge parapet, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and slot drain. Optional molds cover each of those profiles, and the machine handles low-slump concrete for tall, clean wall. It runs on four tracks with G+ controls and 3D stringless guidance, and a contractor summed it up plainly: it is built to be a barrier machine.
Its signature is true right-side and left-side slipforming. The U-shaped operator’s platform and a console that slides side to side let the 4400 pour off either side of the machine, so a crew can slipform barrier with the direction of traffic instead of against it.
Barrier height comes from the mold and mount. The Hook-and-Go system undermounts molds for wall up to 39.4 in. (1000 mm) tall, and side-mount adaptors take taller or existing molds — crews have slipformed 76 to 78 in. (1930 to 1981 mm) wall over steel-cage reinforcing, and variable-height barrier reaching 6.5 ft. (2 m). A 16 in. (406 mm) charging auger, pitched for low-slump concrete, positions four ways to feed the mold on either side, and the hydraulic system runs a minimum of 18 hours per tank. The console locks safely in the centre when the machine is not pouring.

Benefits
Pour off either side
The 4400’s defining feature is true right-side and left-side slipforming. The U-shaped platform and side-to-side sliding console let the operator pour off whichever side the job needs, so barrier goes down with the flow of traffic rather than against it. It also eases ready-mix truck positioning in tight quarters.
Built for tall wall and low slump
The 4400 is made for the stiff, low-slump concrete that tall barrier needs. The 4400 series auger is pitched and speeded for that mix, and crews have slipformed wall up to 76 to 78 in. (1930 to 1981 mm) over steel-cage reinforcing. GOMACO-exclusive trailing stainless steel gives the finished wall a clean surface straight off the machine.
More than barriers
Barriers are the core job, but the mold is the only thing that changes. With the right mold the 4400 slipforms bridge parapet, curb and gutter, sidewalk up to 8.2 ft. (2.5 m) wide, and slot drain to 19.7 in. (500 mm). Side-mount adaptors let a contractor keep using existing barrier molds they already own on the new machine.
Compact, stable, and easy to ship
The 4400 is a compact machine that works in close quarters and stays stable doing it. Front and rear legs telescope on both sides for mold and track positioning, and the auger positions four ways to feed either side. It ships at 7.6 ft. (2.32 m) wide and drives straight into a container with the auger attached.
Why GOMACO
Concrete paving since 1965
GOMACO has built concrete paving equipment out of Ida Grove, Iowa since 1965 and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. The paving line covers widths up to 50 feet (15.2 m) and depths to 19 inches (483 mm), and the same machines run on interstate mainline, airport runways, city streets, and canal work around the world.
G+ Operating System
G+ is proprietary, developed by GOMACO’s own control engineers rather than adapted from an off-the-shelf platform. It uses two-way communication between the paver and its accessories, closed-loop electronic and hydraulic control, and instant digital feedback. Contractors moving up from a GP-4000 can carry their existing attachments and sensors straight onto a new GP4.
Family owned from the start
GOMACO is still owned and run by the family that started it. Harold and Gary Godbersen founded Godbersen Manufacturing Company in 1965, and a third generation of the family is in the business today. Roughly 350 people build every machine in Ida Grove, Iowa, across more than 500,000 sq. ft. (46,450 m²) of plant, office and engineering space.
